Lester Eugene Durbin

Lester Eugene Durbin, 71 of Palestine, died at 9:58 a.m. Monday, April 14, 2008 at Cotillion Ridge Nursing Center in Robinson. He was born February 1, 1937 in Atlanta, IL, the son of Casious M. Durbin and Eva Laura Kindred Durbin. He worked in construction, served in the U. S. Marines in Japan, and was a Life Member of the Terre Haute, IN V. F. W. Post #972. He married Harriet Belle Frisbie on May 22, 2005 and she survives. He is also survived by sons and daughters-in-law, Joel and Ashley Durbin, Lakeland, FL, Leslie and Tammy Durbin, Paris, Charlie Durbin, Palestine, Robert and Paula Durbin, Gibson City, Tom and Joann Beard, Robinson, John and Kathy Welty, Terre Haute, IN, Jerry and Heaven Welty, West Terre Haute, IN; his two daughters and son-in-law, Lora Rhodes, Bloomington, IL, Edna Marie and Tim Heagy, Indianapolis, IN; his sister and brother-in-law, Howard and Katie Wilkerson, Clinton, IN; and 18 grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents and 2 sisters.Funeral services are Friday, April 18, 2008 at 2:00 p.m. at the Goodwine Funeral Home, Palestine, IL with Rev. John Brand officiating. Burial will be in the Palestine Cemetery. Visitation will be from noon until service time at 2:00 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.
