Leslie "Dale" Trout

Leslie €œDale€ Trout, 89, of Robinson, IL, died at 7:30 a.m., Friday, January 7, 2011 at Crawford Memorial Hospital, Robinson. He was born April 6, 1921 in rural Flat Rock, IL, the son of Charles F. Trout and Lilly Pearl Custard Trout. He served in the U. S. Army during WWII in Guadalcanal.Dale was known by many from his years as an umpire in the youth leagues of Robinson City Parks and his years as an employee at Paul Otey€™s Marathon in Robinson. He was a mechanic and a truck driver with Marathon and was a life member of the Robinson American Legion Post #69, a member of the Robinson V. F. W. Post #4549 and of the Robinson Free Methodist Church. Dale married Anna Mae Trout on September 10, 1944 and she preceded him in death on June 25, 2002. He was also preceded in death by his parents; his daughter-in-law, Karra Mikeworth Trout; 1 grandson, Matthew Burcham; 2 brothers, Emerson and Wilbur Trout; and his sister, Alma Purcell.He is survived by his son and daughter-in-law, Roger & Vicky Trout, Springfield; 2 daughters and sons-in-law, Reta & Donald Burcham, Austin, TX, Judy & Stephen Rich, Oblong; 7 grandchildren and their spouses, Michelle & Lynn Sidun, Rawlins, WY, Blaine & Debbie Rich, Collville, WA, Staleena & Ben Sweet, Robinson, Joshua & Amber Rich, Fowler, IN, Nathan & Heather Burcham, Houston, TX, Amanda & Nathan Sabo, Ashville, NC, and Kari & Tim Woodson, Springfield; 18 great grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, January 12, 2011 at the Robinson Free Methodist Church, with Reverend Jack Andrews presiding over services. Burial will be in the Tohill Cemetery, rural Flat Rock. Military graveside services will be conducted by the combined units of the Palestine AmVets Post #33, Robinson V. F. W. Post #4549, Robinson American Legion Post #69, and Flat Rock American Legion Post #132. Visitation will be held from 5:00-7:00 p.m. Tuesday, January 11th at the Goodwine Funeral Home in Robinson and from 10:00-11:00 a.m. on Wednesday at the church prior to funeral services. Memorials may be made to the Robinson Free Methodist Church or to the donor€™s favorite charity with envelopes available at the funeral home and church.
