Leroy Jr. Wells

LeRoy Wells, Jr., 84 of rural Annapolis, IL died at his home at 9:10 a.m. Wednesday, July 9th, 2008. He was born August 19, 1923 in Snyder, IL (Clark County), the son of Roy Wells, Sr. and Effie Holwick Wells. LeRoy was a lifelong farmer and in 1953 he started LeRoy Wells Bulldozing. In 1968 he designed and built Annapolis Grain Co. All these businesses are still family owned and operated. He was also a lifetime member of the Full Gospel Businessmen’s Fellowship International. He married Anna Dee Bartlett on February 12, 1944 and she survives. He is also survived by his son and daughter-in-law, Greg and Sharon Wells, West York; his daughter, Sue Randle, Hutsonville; 4 grandchildren and their spouses, Chad and Deann Wells, Annapolis, Heidi and Nathan Piersall, West Union, Roxie Randle, Nashville, TN, Drew Randle, Hutsonville; 5 great grandchildren, Clayton, Mason, and Savanna Wells, Brendan and Owen Piersall. He is additionally survived by his three sisters, Genieve Stepp, Taylorville, Eleanor Craig, Marshall, Deannie Medsker, Marshall; his sister-in-law, Evie Wells, Baytown, TX, and his brother-in-law, Max Bartlett, Marshall; and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents; his son, Stanley Wells, August 18, 1974; his son-in-law, Ronald Randle; a great grandson, Issac Piersall; 2 brothers, Kenneth and Ross Wells; and his two sisters, Cleo Lindley and Imogene Jackson.Funeral services will be held Saturday, July 12th at 11:00 a.m. at the Prust-Hosch Funeral Home in West Union. Pastor Joe Carter is in charge of services. Burial is in the Ohio Cemetery. Visitation will be from 5:00 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. Friday, July 11th at the funeral home. Memorials may be made to Lincolnland Hospice, the Ohio Cemetery, or to the charity of donor’s choice.
