Lauralee Nine Boyd

Lauralee Nine-Boyd of Palestine, Illinois passed away unexpectedly in her home on February 10, 2020. She was 57 years old. She provided care for her community through healthcare, education, and as a homemaker. Lauralee was born June 11, 1962 in Crawfordsville, Indiana. She is the daughter of Archie and Karen Nine of Hillsboro, IN. She graduated from Fountain Central High School in 1980. On May 2nd, 1981, she married her best friend, John Boyd, in Mellott, Indiana. The ceremony was officiated by her father-in-law, Robert Boyd. She became a mother on July 19th, 1982 with the birth of her daughter Miranda and was blessed again on February 25th, 1987 with her son Brandon. Lauralee was pursuing her associate degree in medical office procedures with a certificate in medical transcription. She was routinely on the Dean’s list and always an honor's student. She was a kind-hearted woman that made friends easily and was loved by all. She will be missed. She is survived by her husband (John), daughter (Miranda Boyd Calandro), son (Brandon Boyd), son-in-law (Anthony Calandro), two grandchildren, Teagan Calandro (7) and Myra Calandro (3), parents (Archie and Karen Nine), mother-in-law (Bernice Boyd), sisters Donna Brittain, Mary Beth Boyd, brother-in-law Mark Boyd, brother Joe Nine, sister-in-law Bethanne Nine, sister-in-law Susan Brady, and brother-in-law Dennis Brady, brother-in-law Matthew Boyd, six nieces and seven nephews. She was preceded in death by her father-in-law, Rev. Robert Boyd, brother-in-law, Michael Boyd, and her maternal and paternal grandparents. A time of visitation will be held from 2:00-4:00 p.m. on Friday, February 14th at the Goodwine Funeral Home in Palestine. Services will immediately follow and will be held at 4:00 p.m. at the funeral home, with Celebrant Curt Goodwine officiating. During the service, family and friends will have the opportunity to share thoughts and memories of Lauralee's life. Burial will be held at a later date in the Kirk Cemetery. In honor of her love of animals, memorials may be made to the "Crawford County Humane Society", with envelopes available at the funeral home.
