Larry Wayne McIntyre, passed away on February 28, 2024, at the age of 49. Born on May 21, 1974, in Paris, Illinois, he was the adored son of Harry L. McIntyre and Nancy (Brady) Griffith.
Raised in Kansas, Illinois, Larry graduated from Kansas High School in 1993. His formative years in the close-knit community shaped him into the man who would be known for his readiness to lend a helping hand to those in need. Following high school, Larry devoted his time and energy to supporting his family, particularly during a period when he helped care for his beloved aunt and uncle. The value of family was deeply ingrained in him, and his actions continually reflected that devotion.
Larry's life was one of simple pleasures and enduring passions. A lover of sports video games, he found joy and relaxation in the virtual arenas where he excelled. His love for movies provided not just entertainment but also an avenue for connection with others, sharing experiences and conversations sparked by the silver screen. Behind his quiet demeanor was a rich inner world, full of the things he cherished and the people he loved.
Those who had the pleasure to know Larry will remember him as a man of few words but many acts of kindness. He navigated life with a gentle spirit, preferring to show his affection and concern through deeds rather than declarations. To be helped by Larry was to know that you were valued, and his selflessness left a lasting impact on the community that he held so dear.
He is survived by his mother, Nancy Griffith; by his brothers, Harry Leon McIntyre Jr. and Bobby Joe McIntyre. He is preceded in death by his father and grandparents.
It was Larry's wish to be cremated. The Goodwine Funeral Home in Robinson is in charge of cremation arrangements.
