Larry L. Ramsey

Larry L. Ramsey, 73, of Olney, IL, formerly of Palestine, IL, died at 11:20 p.m. Wednesday, December 17, 2008 at Richland Care and Rehab Center, Olney, IL. He was born November 14, 1935 in Palestine, IL, the son of Dale Ramsey and Francis Donahue Ramsey. He retired from the U. S. Navy in September of 1977 after 20 years of service. He was a laborer in the construction industry; a member of the Palestine Masonic Lodge #849, Flat Rock American Legion Post #132, Robinson V. F. W. Post #4549, Palestine AmVets Post #33, and the Palestine Eagles Lodge.He married Sharon Millette on August 3, 2002 and she survives. He is also survived by 4 sons, Randy, Rocky, Rusty, and Richey Ramsey; 2 daughters, Karen Wright, Camby, IN, Laurice Ramsey, Indianapolis, IN; 2 brothers and his sister-in-law, Jerry and Martha Ramsey, Fayetteville, GA, Melvin Ramsey, Palestine; 2 sisters and his brother-in-law, Mona Ramsey, Palestine, Donna and Jim Kent, rural Flat Rock; and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents; 1 brother, William Wayne Ramsey in infancy; and his sister, Anita Weger.Masonic services will be conducted by the Palestine Masonic Lodge #849, at 6:00 p.m. on Monday, December 22, 2008, at the Goodwine Funeral Home in Palestine. Visitation will precede the service from 5-6 p.m., followed by a flag presentation by the Robinson V.F.W. Post #4549. Memorials may be made to the organization of the donor’s choice.
