Larry Gullett, 80, of Robinson, IL, died at 10:05 a.m. on Saturday, September 8, 2018 at the Magnolia Center in Robinson. He was born December 24, 1937 in Robinson, the son of George and Goldie (Hanley) Gullett, both of whom preceded him in death. He was also preceded in death by his brother, Robert “Bob” Gullett; and by his sisters, Kathryn Wampler and Wilma “Jean” Dedrick. He married Ronda Jo Wood on June 7, 1958 and she survives. He is also survived by his children & their spouses, Holly & Christopher Boesiger (Robinson, IL), Matthew Gullett (Moriches, NY), Eric & Pauletta Gullett (Robinson, IL), Dea & Darron Mikeworth (Robinson, IL); by his grandchildren & their spouses, Nicholas Decker (Robinson, IL), Jordan & Emily LeGout (Jacksonville, FL), Jaime & Ryan Garrard (Robinson, IL), Jared & Emily Gullett (Robinson, IL), Kaitlyn & Frank Reding (Vincennes, IN), Benjamin & Jaclyn Gullett (Hillsborough, NJ), Andrew Gullett & Shannon Pacocha (East Norwich, NY), Ryan Mikeworth (Robinson, IL), and Connor Mikeworth (Robinson, IL); by his great-grandchildren, Amaya Brimberry, Ashton Decker, Benjamin LeGout, Eleanor LeGout, Erika Garrard, and Sydney Garrard; by his brother & sister-in-law, Byron & Judy Gullett (Robinson, IL); by his sister-in-law, Carolyn Gullett (Robinson, IL); by his best friend, Corey Loftis, his wife Amanda, and their daughter, Terynn; as well as several nieces and nephews. Larry grew up in the Robinson area and was a 1955 graduate of Robinson High School. At the age of 16, he started working at the Robinson Daily News, where he worked for the next 54 years before retiring in 2008. As a young man, he was an accomplished equestrian, having spent many years as a member of the Robinson Saddle Club and trail riding. His love of animals was one he carried with him for the rest of his life. He spent a great deal of his time caring for many pets, the most beloved of all was his dog, Precious, who preceded him in death. Larry enjoyed puttering in the yard and planted a rose bush for each of his grandchildren. He was also a wonderful dancer and enjoyed cutting a rug with Ronda whenever the opportunity presented itself. His greatest joy in life was being a grandfather and great-grandfather. Larry’s heart was for his family and he displayed an infinite amount of patience with them through the years. He was someone who was always willing to help in any way he could. Larry Gullett lived a life of generosity, love, and most of all – humor. He left a treasure of memories in the hearts of all who knew him. A time of visitation will be held from 4:00-7:00 p.m. on Wednesday, September 12th at the Goodwine Funeral Home in Robinson. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Thursday, September 13th at the funeral home with burial following at the Robinson New Cemetery. Celebrant Curt Goodwine will officiate the services. Memorials may be made to the Crawford County Spay and Neuter Foundation, with envelopes available at the funeral home.
