Larry Don Bradberry

Larry Don Bradberry, 35, of Robinson, IL, lived a life that exemplified an extraordinary strength of character, an unyielding zest for adventure, and an unparalleled commitment to his loved ones. On March 10, 2024, his vibrant journey came to an unexpected close following an ATV accident south of New Hebron, leaving behind a legacy laced with indomitable spirit and heartfelt memories. Born on February 18, 1989, in Terre Haute, IN, Larry's formative years in Oblong and Robinson were punctuated with noteworthy achievements. As an eighth grader with unyielding determination, he earned the "Mr. Hustle Award" in the Junior Football League, an accomplishment of which he was especially proud! Larry's high school days showcased his natural athleticism, where he excelled as a standout linebacker for Robinson High School, embodying the "iron curtain" ethos that defined his beloved Pittsburg Steelers.

From a young age, Larry knew he wanted to be a tradesman. So, upon his graduation from Robinson High School in 2007, he began a nearly 17-year journey perfecting his craft as a proud member of Local #157 Plumbers and Steamfitters. Known as an extraordinary welder, his colleagues remember him as a hardworking and incredibly talented individual who did excellent work, most recently for SENCO at the Marathon refinery. On July 10, 2010, he married his high school sweetheart and best friend, Kenzie Mikeworth. Together, they were a testament to the fact that opposites attract and can create harmonious symphonies of happiness. Their bond, alongside their children, was welded with an enduring love that proved family and joy are the cornerstones of a life well-lived.

It must be said that "Crazy Larry" never shied away from adventure. Whether it was outings to the river for a day filled with swimming, fishing, and riding side-by-sides with his friends or taking part in rambunctious demolition derbies while aiming for the "Mad Dog Award" for the biggest hit, Larry embraced life's moments with a daring spirit. His passion for hunting for deer, mushrooms, and sheds with his kids further depicted a man whose love for the outdoors was as boundless as his heart. After all, to have known Larry was to be touched by a life that embraced every moment with generosity. A man who could be relied upon to drop everything to help a friend, his presence was a beacon of goodwill across all walks of life. Time and again, Larry gave of himself unreservedly, crafting a narrative of life that thrived on the power of love and laughter and the thrill of following the next "yes". It was evident that Larry lived each day to its fullest, a true champion of the present. Whether indulging in his love for classic country music by playing Hank, Jr. loudly and proudly or singing "Milkshake" to his embarrassed children, his enthusiasm for life was nothing short of infectious! As a father, he was ardently involved with his children's lives, and was, by all accounts, a "sports dad". He was his kids' biggest champion and supporter and was a staple at their various events, be that wrestling, football, baseball, or soccer. His profound love was never a secret; he wore it boldly, his voice never faltering in expressing his affections. Those who were privileged enough to be loved by him knew they had an unconditional ally by their side.

As we remember the amazing man he was, let's honor the legacy of Larry Bradberry by embracing each day with the same vibrant energy and love that he so freely gave. In his memory, let's also live life passionately, love deeply without reservation, and always be the friend he epitomized throughout his unforgettable life.

He is survived by his wife of nearly 14 years, Kenzie Bradberry and their children, Karder Rose Bradberry and Knox Jeffry Bradberry; by his parents - his mother & step-father, Kerri & Mike Rimmer and his father & step-mother, Rick & Kelly Bradberry; by his grandmothers, Jane Bradberry and Faye Rimmer; by his father-in-law & mother-in-law, Jeff & Alice Mikeworth; by his grandfather-in-law, John Manning; by his brother & sister-in-law, Hank & Dawn Bradberry; by his sisters & brothers-in-law, Keisha & Matt Lewis, Kara DeBelle, Kelsey & John Illingworth, and Krista & Jeff Hemrich; by his brother-in-law and sisters-in-law, Tom & Stephanie Hill, Tammy Mikeworth, and Sam Mikeworth; and by his nieces and nephews, Walker Mikeworth, Ivy Mikeworth, Copper Hotsenpiller, Hannah Bice, Keyli Bice, Khloe DeBelle, Kynzli DeBelle, Karsyn DeBelle, Kolton Hemrich, Marshall Bradberry, Austin Bradberry, Lacie Hill, Kevin Hill, and Logan Hill; and by his great-nieces, Heidi Domeny, Hayzlee Domeny, and Lakelyn Crampton.

He was preceded in death by his son, Lukas Allen Bradberry (in infancy); by his grandparents, Larry Baud, Connie Rich, Larry Rimmer, and Don Bradberry; as well as his grandmother-in-law, Rosie Manning.

A time of visitation will be held from 11:00 a.m.-2:00 p.m. on Thursday, March 14th, at the Goodwine Funeral Home in Robinson. A funeral service will immediately follow and be held at 2:00 p.m. on Thursday, with Celebrant Curt Goodwine officiating. During the service, family and friends will have the opportunity to share their favorite memories of Larry and express what made him so special. Burial will be in the Tohill Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, his family requests that memorial donations may be made to either the "Crawford County Wrestling Club", the "Crawford County Soccer Club", or his kid's college fund, with checks payable to "Kenzie Bradberry". Memorial envelopes will be available at the funeral home.
