Larry D. Dunlap

Larry D. Dunlap, 81, of Olney, IL, formerly of Robinson, IL, died February 24, 2021, at Helia Healthcare in Olney, IL. He was born August 16, 1939, the son of Clarence & Esther Dunlap, both of whom preceded him in death. He married Donna Kay Dunlap on August 15, 1964, and she preceded him in death on April 25, 2009. He is survived by several nieces and nephews. Anyone who had the good fortune of knowing Larry could attest to his happy-go-lucky personality. Simply put, he was one of those rare souls who exuded joy wherever he went. This, no doubt, made him a popular figure at Briggs Pottery, where he worked for many, many years before they closed their doors. Time away from work often found Larry fishing (though the man wasn't particularly good at it!) This pastime brought him a great sense of peace and pleasure, especially after his beloved wife Donna died. He was also quite the professional wrestling fan and hardly missed a Tuesday night wrestling match in Noble, IL. In the twilight of his life, Larry often spent evenings with his niece, Sharon, who will cherish memories of her uncle whistling his way to her house for dinner. Larry Dunlap didn't necessarily have the best of everything, but it was apparent that he made the best of everything that came his way. His 81 years were marked by humor and a joy that reminded us all that life is what you make it.  Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, February 27th at the Goodwine Funeral Home in Robinson, with Celebrant Curt Goodwine officiating. Under Phase 4 Mitigations, public attendance is allowed, but only up to 50 attendees at a time. Thusly, social distancing measures will be in place, and it will be required that all visitors wear face coverings while in the building.  Memorial contributions may be made to the "American Cancer Society", with envelopes available at the funeral home. Larry will be laid to rest in the Hutsonville Cemetery.
