Kim Davis, 59, of Hutsonville, IL, passed away April 9, 2021, at Crawford Memorial Hospital in Robinson, IL. She was born June 5, 1961, in Champaign, IL, the daughter of John & Violet (Fulk) Raymer. She was a 1979 graduate of Oakland High School in Oakland, IL. On March 27, 1982, she married her best friend, Gale Davis, and they enjoyed 39 years of wedded bliss. Together, they welcomed three children into the world, DeAndrea, Shannan, and Cody. Kim had an undeniable love for her family and always put them first. She was, by all accounts, a loving wife, mother, grandmother, daughter, sister, and aunt. When her children and grandchildren were playing sports, Kim was their #1 fan and supported them in all of their endeavors. Simply put, she cherished every moment that she spent with her family. Some of her favorite moments were spent at cookouts because they integrated her love of food, family, and the outdoors. It is no surprise to anyone who knew her that Kim found joy in being outside. A great lover of plants, she spent countless hours tending to her garden and was especially fond of her hibiscuses, as they attracted hummingbirds. She was able to take in much of God's creation on the back of Gale's Harley, as the two of them were known to take trips wherever the wind would blow. The last year of her life was a particularly sweet one, as it found Gale retired, allowing the two of them the freedom to do whatever they wanted. Though she could often be seen as reserved, Kim blossomed around those she loved. In fact, it could be said that she was the rock of her family, who find hope and assurance that her 59 years with us were but the beginning of the eternal life she found in Jesus Christ. She is survived by her husband, Gale Davis; by her daughter, DeAndrea Werley; by her daughter & son-in-law, Shannan & Jasen Arms; by her son, Cody Davis; by her grandchildren, Haley Meyer, Collin & Nicholas Werley, Makayla & Kyle Kilian, and Layne & Owen White; by her mother & step-father, Violet (Raymer) & Ron Buckels; by her brother & sister-in-law, Doug & Cathy Raymer; by her sister, Jolene Raymer Perry; and by several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her father, John T. Raymer; by her brother, John L. Raymer; by her sister, Tina Grace (Raymer) Cushman. A time of visitation will be held from 9:00-11:00 a.m. on Thursday, April 15th, at the Goodwine Funeral Home in Robinson. Funeral services will immediately follow and will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, with Pastor Mont Mitchell officiating.
