Kenneth E. Leggitt, 87, of Robinson, IL, died 7:30 a.m. Wednesday, April 7, 2010 at the United Methodist Village, Lawrenceville, IL. He was born August 12, 1922 in Palestine, IL, the son of Arthur Leggitt and Louise Reynolds Leggitt. He served in the U. S. Army during WWII in Europe. He was process chief operator at Marathon for 35 years retiring on June 1, 1982. He was a member of the Robinson BPOE Lodge #1188 for 60 years, a member of the Robinson V. F. W. Post #4549, the Robinson American Legion Post #69, the Robinson Highland Church of Christ, and past member and president of the Robinson Lions Club.Kenneth married Mary Frances Lewellyn on October 13, 1979 and she survives. He is also survived by his daughter and son-in-law, Judy and David Winger, Palestine; 2 grandchildren, David Reinbold and his wife Debbie, Palestine and Cathy and her husband, Rick Horner, Navarre, OH; 5 great grandchildren; his step-daughter-in-law, Michelle McMahan, TX; step-daughter and her husband, Susan and Dennis Inboden, Robinson; 5 step grandchildren, Karson McMahon, Kaley McMahon, and Konner McMahon all of Texas, Daniel Inboden and his wife, Jessica, Robinson, Shannon Goebel and her husband, Kurtis, Savoy, 2 step great grandchildren; his brother and sister-in-law, Arthur €œBud€ and Janet Leggitt, Palestine; and his sister, Doris Parker, Roswell, GA.He was preceded in death by his parents; and his sister, Maxine Turner.Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Saturday, April 10, 2010 at the Goodwine Funeral Home, Palestine with Tom Buchanan officiating. Burial will be in the Palestine Cemetery, Palestine. Visitation will be held 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. Friday, April 9th at the Goodwine Funeral Home, Palestine. Memorials may be made to the Highland Church of Christ, Robinson or to the United Methodist Village with envelopes available at the funeral home.
