Keith D. Miller

September 22, 1948 — April 1, 2022

Keith D. Miller, 73, of Flat Rock, IL, passed away on April 1, 2022, at Crawford Memorial Hospital in Robinson, IL. He was born September 22, 1948, in Robinson, the son of Dale D. "Red" & Viola (Osborn) Miller. He grew up in the Robinson area and was a 1967 graduate of Robinson High School. He would find work at L.S. Heath & Sons and Briggs Pottery before joining Carpenters' Local #243. As a carpenter, Keith worked with a number of contractors at Marathon before finally retiring after many years of service. Never one to let dust settle, he joined the team at Stewart Security following his retirement.

Much of his free time found Keith out in God's creation. An avid outdoorsman, few things brought more life to his living than soaking in the beauty of the world around him, be that through camping, mushroom hunting, or deer hunting. He was, however, especially drawn to coon hunting, as evidenced by his involvement with the Wabash Valley Coon Club, the Casey Coon Club, among many others.

Time at home was often spent in front of the television, watching a NASCAR race or a Chicago Bears football game. He was also a fan of westerns, especially Gunsmoke, which provided him with hours of entertainment. Though he enjoyed these particular diversions, it was spending time with his family that he truly cherished. They will remember Keith as a man who wasn't afraid to speak his mind but would still give you the shirt off his back if you needed help. This generosity of spirit was no doubt tied to his walk with Jesus. A member of the former Wesleyan Church in Robinson, Keith put his very life in his Savior's hands years ago. We find comfort that, by the grace of God, his 73 years are but the beginning of life eternal!

He married Martha L. Miller on April 15, 1967, and she survives. He is also survived by his daughters, Robin & Stacy Kessler (Flat Rock, IL) and Cathy & Eric Warner (Robinson, IL); by his grandchildren, Ryan & Brandi Miller (Marshall, IL), Emily Miller & fiancé Cole Grieves (Robinson, IL), Abby Kessler (Robinson, IL), and Laban Warner (Robinson, IL); by his brother, Randy Miller (Palestine, IL); by his sister & brother-in-law, Connie & Charlie Coombes (Robinson, IL); by his sister-in-law, Brenda & Kelly Hart (Sumner, IL); by his brothers-in-law, Terry & Dawana Miller (Robinson, IL), Jim Miller (Flat Rock, IL), and Danny & Carol Miller (Robinson, IL); as well as many nieces, nephews, cousins, and an aunt.

He was preceded in death by his parents; by his parents-in-law, James R. & Lelia Miller; by his sister, Donna Weck; and by his grandson, Cody James.
