Kathy Charlene Malone

Kathy Charlene Malone, 69, of Marshall, IL, passed away in the comfort of her home, surrounded by the love of her family on Friday, August 16, 2024. Born on November 20, 1954, in Terre Haute, IN, her journey through life was marked by unwavering faith, boundless love, and a dedication to caring for others.

Kathy's formative years were spent in West Union, IL, and she attended Marshall High School before transferring to Hutsonville High School, where she graduated in 1972. Following her graduation, she briefly joined TRW in Marshall before embarking on a remarkable 40-year career in healthcare. Kathy's compassionate nature found its true calling as she served as a home health aide for Crawford Memorial Hospital in Robinson, IL for 25 years, providing tender care and comfort to countless individuals in their time of need.

Away from the demands of her profession, Kathy enjoyed the simple pleasures of life. She took pride in maintaining her home and garden, ensuring that both were places of peace and beauty. Her love for travel took her on many adventures, but she found her greatest joy in the company of her loving friends and cherished family, especially her grandchildren, whom she treasured above all else.

A woman of deep and abiding faith, Kathy's spiritual journey was nurtured at Beyond Walls Church, where she worshipped her Savior with devotion. Her life, marked by kindness, generosity, and grace, clearly reflected the goodness of Jesus, the one to whom she turned time and again. We take comfort in knowing that she is resting in his gentle arms and look forward to the day when, by the grace of God, we see her again.

She married Mike Malone on February 19, 1999, and he survives. She is also survived by her daughters & sons-in-law, Sheena Hanson (West Union, IL), Tawne & Fred Woods (Marshall, IL), and Cachet & Richy Funkhouser (Marshall, IL); by her sons, Dallas Volk (Marshall, IL) and Mike & wife Nikki Wisdom (Trimble, IL); and by her grandchildren, Gracie, Jaiden, Tanner, Jovie, and DaLynn. She was preceded in death by her parents, Edward "Sonny" & Wanda (Adams) Arbuckle, and by her brother, William "Bill" Arbuckle.

A graveside service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, August 20th, at the Harrison Cemetery, rural West Union, IL, with Darrell Kuhn officiating. Memorials may be made to her family of faith, "Beyond Walls", and envelopes will be available at the cemetery. The Prust-Hosch Funeral Home in West Union is in charge of arrangements.
