Karen Smith, 65, of West York, IL died at 3:10 a.m. (e.s.t.) Monday, May 26, 2008, at Methodist Hospital in Indianapolis, IN. She was born August 24, 1942, in Ipava, IL, the daughter of Dale Ward and Lucy Lafary Ward. She married John Robert Walton and he preceded her in death in 1975; she then married Jack Stanley Beatty and he preceded her in death in 1992; and then married Fred Smith and he preceded her in death in 2003. She was also preceded in death by her parents.She is survived by six children and their spouses, Jack L. Walton, West York, Micheal and Bonnie King Beatty, Jewett, IL, Ronald L. Beatty, Annapolis, Dale Beatty & Billie Lewis, Jewett, IL, Sharon & Daniel Dobbs, Sumner, IL, James Beatty, West York. She is also survived by four brothers and sisters-in-law, Ronald L. and Linda Ward, Cuba, IL, Gary D. Ward, Sr., Bushnell, IL, Larry E. and Debbie Ward, Lewistown, IL, Dennis D. Ward, Toulon, IL; three sisters and brothers-in-law, Sharon and Wally Hammond, Canton, IL, Eleanor Frances Weaver and Arlan Landis, Donna, TX, Donna Loudenburg, Bradford, IL; seven grandchildren; six step grandchildren; one great-grandchild; and several nieces and nephews.Services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Friday, May 30th, at the Goodwine Funeral Home in Robinson, with visitation from noon until service time at 2:00 p.m. Burial will be at Oak Grove Cemetery. Memorials may be made to the Karen Smith Memorial Fund, with envelopes available at the funeral home.
