Karen Jean Byrne

September 18, 1946 — July 25, 2019

Karen Jean Byrne, 72, of Palestine, IL, died at 4:25 a.m. on Thursday, July 25, 2019 at Cotillion Ridge in Robinson, IL. She was born September 18, 1946 in Robinson, IL, the daughter of Kenneth Murphy & Vivian (Jordan) Murphy, both of whom preceded her in death. She was also preceded in death by her twin sister, Sharon (in infancy), and by her husband, Bill Byrne. She is survived by her son, Adlai Stripling (FL); by her stepson, Jason Byrne (CA); by her brother, Mike Murphy (Palestine, IL); by her niece, Susann Murphy (Avon, IN); by her great-niece, Adyson Hines (Avon, IN); as well as several cousins and extended family members. Karen grew up in Palestine and was a 1964 graduate of PHS. She would go on to see the world, having lived overseas for a brief time as a military wife before making her way back to the U.S., where she made a home for herself in Florida and California. We find peace that she spent her final days back home in Illinois. It was Karen’s wish to have a private burial at the Oak Grove Cemetery, rural Palestine. The Goodwine Funeral Home in Palestine is in charge of arrangements.
