June Stoner, 92 of rural Palestine, IL, died at 9:00 p.m. Friday, October 01, 2010 at her home after an extended illness. She was born on June 2, 1918 in Palestine, the daughter of William Potter and Effie Frances Renchen Potter. She was a homemaker and was an active quilter who supported Project Linus. June was a member of the Oak Grove Church in rural Palestine.She married Ray Stoner on February 4, 1939 and he preceded her in death on November 18, 2000. She was also preceded in death by her parents; her daughter and son-in-law, Darlen and Bill Watson; her sister, Ada Burkett; and her three brothers, Lester, Otis and Lyndon Potter.She is survived by her three grandchildren, Mia Rae Watson, Molly June Watson and Michael Maliek Watson, all of rural Palestine; as well as several nieces and nephews.Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Tuesday, October 5, 2010 at the Goodwine Funeral Home in Palestine. Burial will be in the Oak Grove Cemetery, rural Palestine. Visitation will be held from 12:00 p.m. until service time at 2:00 on Tuesday. Memorials may be made to the Oak Grove Cemetery, with envelopes available at the funeral home.
