Judy Maureen Ogle

October 7, 1946 — November 19, 2022

Judy Maureen Ogle, 76, of Robinson, IL, died on November 19, 2022, at Ascension St. Vincent Hospital in Evansville, IN. She was born on October 7, 1946, in Robinson, the daughter of Lawrence "Steve" & Bonnie Irene (Griffin) Kenderdine. A 1964 graduate of Robinson High School, she would go on to attend Lockyear Business College before entering the workforce as a secretary. Though she worked in this capacity for the State's Attorney's Office and the Marathon Oil Land Department, she eventually furthered her education at Vincennes University. It was at this point that she earned the nickname "Gunner", because she was always gunning for A grades, and that's exactly what she accomplished! In fact, she graduated first in the entire Class of 1999, and in doing so, became a recognized alumna of VU and was asked repeatedly to come back and speak for the college. Her hard work paid off professionally as well, as she was recruited by the Knox Co Prosecutor's Office, where she finished her career as a paralegal.

Time at home often found Judy in her kitchen. A gifted baker, you couldn't find a more delicious carrot cake or pecan pie than hers, and she set the standard when it came to fudges and caramels. Her mouth-watering queso dip was a staple of every family get-together. Grandchildren tended to make these gatherings somewhat chaotic affairs, but she didn't mind in the least; after all, her grandkids brought light and life into her world. They could each speak to their Grammy's love of games. Through the years, they enjoyed innumerable hours playing Sixes and other card games and board games like Trivial Pursuit. It should come as no surprise that she dominated at Scrabble, as she was about as well-read as anyone, burning through about a book a week!

Though she cherished time spent in Robinson, Judy also held a deep appreciation for the beach. Indian Rocks Beach, FL, in particular, was like a home away from home for her, and she always looked forward to the fare at Frenchy's Rockaway Grill in Clearwater. No matter where she was or what she was doing, you could count on the fact that she was making beautiful memories in the process. Judy Ogle lived a lot of life in her 76 years. She experienced much and filled her days with laughter and love. One of the most tangible expressions of that love could be found in the countless blankets she made for kids in need. A co-founder of the Wabash Valley Chapter of Project Linus, few things brought her more joy than loving area children in this specific way. May we who are left behind continue to learn from this dear woman's memory, recognizing that life is found not in what you take away but in what you give away. What a gift she was!

She married Robert "Guv" Ogle on April 15, 1985, and he survives. She is also survived by her children, Steven Eric Canfield, James Corey & Sandra Canfield, Rodney & Stacie Ogle, Michelle Pinkston; by her grandchildren, Rachel Addington, Sydney & Lucas Welty, Jordin & Landon Johnson, Riley & Julie Ogle, Jayden Pinkston, Judson Pinkston, Maxwell Canfield, Carasyn Canfield; by her first great-grandchild, Genesis Ryn Johnson; and by her sister, Debra Kenderdine. She was preceded in death by her parents; by her sister, Sandra Kay Tewell; and by her son-in-law, Ryan Daniel Pinkston.
