Judith E. Plummer

Judith E. Plummer, 80, of Dyer, IN, passed away Monday, January 24, 2022. She is survived by her two sons, L. Scott (Patsy) Plummer and Jeff A. Plummer; by three grandchildren, Amanda Zuber, Britany (Keith) McDonald, and Tyler Plummer; by two great-grandchildren, Draven Zuber and Venesa Zuber; and by her brother, John H. (Helen) Battershell. She was preceded in death by her parents, John H. Battershell and Hilda K. (Sexton) Randles. Though she found employment with the Hammond Times early in her career, Judy would give years of devoted service to Prairie State College in Chicago Heights, IL, where she worked as the Dean's Assistant before retirement. A talented artist, few things brought her a greater sense of accomplishment than bringing a drawing or painting to life. She exercised her creativity through quilting as well, and this provided Judy with countless hours of peaceful fulfillment, as did immersing herself within the pages of a good book. If you were to walk into her house at any two separate points, it would have been clear that Judy was always up for starting a new home improvement project! Her house was home to a number of animals, each of whom was given the same type of love and affection she regularly lavished on her family and friends. This love lives on in our hearts and will continue to serve as her legacy forevermore. A time of visitation will be held from 12:00-2:00 PM on Saturday, February 12th, at the Goodwine Funeral Home in Robinson. Graveside services will immediately follow in the Robinson New Cemetery, with Celebrant Curt Goodwine officiating. In lieu of flowers, Judy's family requests that donations be made to a local animal shelter, Alzheimer's Research, or Local Police/Firefighters Fund. Envelopes will be available at the funeral home.
