Joy Elaine White, 77, of Robinson, IL, died on October 20, 2019, at Casey Health Care Center in Casey, IL. She was born on January 26, 1942, in Hutsonville, IL, the daughter of Ovie Adams & Charlotte (Butler) Adams, both of whom preceded her in death. She married Kenneth White on July 23,1983, and he preceded her in death on October 19, 2004. She was also preceded in death by her sisters, Peg Boyll, Betty Lou Anderson, Wanda Arbuckle; and by her brother, Bob Adams. She is survived by her sisters, Jodi Jackson (Marshall, IL) and Virginia Nole (Roosevelt, AZ); by her sister-in-law, Doris Adams; as well as several nieces and nephews. Joy grew up in both the Hutsonville and West York areas. She would go on to work for TRW for a number of years, but her heart was for her home, where she lived with and loved on her cats! Anyone who knew her could attest to the love she had for her four-legged companions as well as her inherent sense of happiness, no matter what life threw her way. She was also known to collect dolls and spent countless hours crocheting afghans for them and for her loved ones. She and Ken were longtime members of the New Hope Baptist Church, where they worshipped the same Savior who made a way to the eternal life they are both experiencing today and forevermore. A time of visitation will be held from 9:00-10:00 a.m. on Thursday, October 24th at the Goodwine Funeral Home in Robinson. Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m. with burial following in the Palestine Cemetery. Pastor George Meese will be officiating the service. In honor of her love of cats, memorial contributions may be made to the "Crawford County Humane Society", with envelopes available at the funeral home.
