John William Moore

John William 'Bill' Moore, 78 of Robinson, IL, died at Good Samaritan Hospital in Vincennes, IN at 10:17 a.m. (e.s.t.) Wednesday, August 6, 2008. He was born March 13, 1930 in Penwell, TX, the son of John Newton Moore and Bonnie Parks Moore. He served in the U. S. Navy for 10 years during the Korean Conflict, was a police officer with the Robinson Police Department following his discharge, and was retired from Marathon Oil Company in 1992 after 28 years of service in the maintenance department. He married Betty Ann Schuch on June 11, 1954 and she survives. He is also survived by 3 daughters and sons-in-law, Susan Kerr, Robinson, Patty and Terry Rafferty, Taft, CA, Jane and Steve Fore, Houston, TX; his two sons and daughters-in-law, John David and Shelly Moore, Taft, CA, and Scott and Dawna Moore, Taft, CA; 11 grandchildren; his sister and brother-in-law, Gene and Harold Tharp, Robinson; his sisters-in-law, Pearl Carpenter, rural Flat Rock, and Helen Pretz, Indianapolis, IN; his brother-in-law and his wife, Jerry and Marsha Schuch, Forest Park; and several nieces and nephews.He was preceded in death by his parents; 3 brothers, 1 sister; and his brother-in-law.Graveside services will be held at the Cox Cemetery, rural Annapolis, IL at 2:00 p.m. Sunday. Rev. William Overman is in charge of services. The Goodwine Funeral Home in Robinson is in charge of arrangements.
