John M. Brashier

John M. Brashier, 75, of Winslow, IN, died December 20, 2021, in the comfort of his daughter's home in Winslow. He was born February 7, 1946, in Sullivan, IN, the son of Malcolm & Waldolene (Moore) Brashier. He grew up in the Palestine, IL area and was a 1964 graduate of Palestine High School. A week later, he married the love of his life, Kaye Moade, and they were united in Holy Matrimony on June 4, 1964. Much of his career found him on the road. A driver for T & M Trucking in Vincennes, John drove thousands of miles over his 40+ years with the company and saw much of the continental U.S. in the process. Time at home often found him with a can of beer or cards in hand. He was, by all accounts, a fun guy, always up for a good time. His friends at the Old 41 Diner could attest to this fact and will remember the joy with which he lived. May we who are left behind learn from John's life, recognizing that it's not the years in our life that count; it's the life in our years! He is survived by his daughter & son-in-law, Melissa & Mark Bennington (Winslow, IN); by two sons, Jeff Brashier (Lyons, IN) and Dustin Brashier (Lyons, IN); by five grandchildren, Corey Bennington & Kristy Crouch, Cassey Bennington & Zack Daugherty, Harlee & Treston Schmidtz, Dalton Brashier & Autumn Hagy, and John Brashier; by eight great-grandchildren; as well as many extended family members. He was preceded in death by his parents, Malcolm & Waldolene (Moore) Brashier; by his wife of 41 years, Kaye Bashier; by his daughter, Amanda Elaine Brashier; by two great-grandchildren, Kaylee Bennington and Nevaeh Brashier; and by his sister, Patsy Smith. A memorial service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Monday, December 27th, at the Goodwine Funeral Home in Robinson. Memorials may be made to his memorial fund, with checks made payable to "Goodwine Funeral Homes". Envelopes will be available at the funeral home.
