John L. Shoulders

John L. Shoulders, 65 of rural Flat Rock, IL, died at 9:58 p.m. Saturday, February 9, 2008 at his home. He was born July 7, 1942 in Lawrenceville , IL , the son of John A. Shoulders and Helen Bearley Shoulders. He was a Laborer and was a member of Local Laborers Union #1280.He married Ann Dixon December 23, 1961 and she survives. He is also survived by his daughter and son-in-law, Chris and David Shimer, Petersburg , IN ; 2 sons and daughters-in-law, John Jr. and Amy Shoulders, Whiting, IN, Steve V. and Sherri Shoulders, Flat Rock; 11 grandchildren; 9 great grandchildren; 4 sisters; special loved ones. Clay Baldner, Hammond , IN and Barry and Gina Baldner, Flat Rock.He was preceded in death by his parents; 4 brothers; and 2 sisters.There will be cremation with a memorial service at 7:00 p.m. Tuesday, February 12th at the Goodwine Funeral Home in Flat Rock with Allen Lich in charge of services. Visitation will be from 5-7 p.m., on Tuesday. Memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society with envelopes at the funeral home.
