John H. Nichols

John H. Nichols, 71, of Robinson, IL, died at 12:50 a.m. Wednesday, April 1, 2009 at his residence. He was born August 21, 1937 in Lancaster, MO, the son of Orin E. Nichols and Reva M. Knupp Nichols. He was the owner of C & J Amoco for over 20 years retiring in 1990. He was a member of the Robinson Kiwanis, Robinson Elks Lodge #1188, and the Robinson Moose Lodge.John married Carole L. Corbin on January 7, 1956 and she survives. He is also survived by 3 sons and daughters-in-law, Jay and Debbie Nichols, Robinson, Jeff and Tammy Nichols, Windsboro, SC, Jamie and Penny Nichols, Robinson; 5 grandchildren, Jessica Nichols, Terre Haute, Justin Nichols, Robinson, Jenni Young, Robinson, Tucker Nichols, Windsboro, SC, Julie Nichols, Robinson; 1 great grandchild, Jayce Mix, Robinson; and several nieces and nephews.He was preceded in death by his parents; and his sister, Mary K. Brown.There will be cremation with no services. The Goodwine Funeral Home, Robinson is in charge of arrangements. Memorials may be made to the Robinson Library with envelopes available at the funeral home.
