Joe Wisener, 84, of Greenfield, IN, died at 1:23 p.m. (EST) on Thursday, April 2, 2020, at Cyprus Run in Morristown, IN. He was born March 20, 1936, in Palestine, IL, the son of Ernie & Cecile Wisener, both of whom preceded him in death. He was also preceded in death by his step-mother, Mary Wisener. He is survived by his life partner, Roberta "Bobbi" Wilson. Their lives were joined together on April 15, 1988, He is also survived by his daughter & son-in-law, Joetta & Ron Connell (Edgewood, IL); by his son & daughter-in-law, Joe (II) & Michelle Wisener (Indianapolis, IN); by his granddaughters, Brandy McClendon and Stessy & Josh Slunaker; by 5 great-grandchildren and 5 great-great-grandchildren; as well as his special rescue-cat, Jake. As a young man, Joe found work through a number of employers, but his career eventually found him running his own business, Mystery Farm Photos. Using his skills as both a pilot and photographer, he was able to capture images of area farms for many farmers over the course of his 30 years in business. Time on the ground often found him outdoors. Joe spent countless hours hunting, target shooting, camping, and simply enjoying the peace and serenity that one can only find in God's creation. His competitive nature was the stuff of legend. He could make a competition out of almost anything. In his youth, he won many archery competitions and also took part in several fast-draw events. He even managed to set up competitive bean bag tosses while undergoing rehab, and won most of them! Not surprising, then, was his love of sport, especially football and basketball. He followed his beloved Colts and Pacers over the years, and watching them brought a great source of joy to his life, as did animals, especially his dogs. He trained and showed his four-legged friends in obedience, and earned the apt title of "dog whisperer". Though competition played a big part in his life, his love of motorcycles played an even bigger one! Joe owned over 900 motorcycles in his lifetime! (You read that right.) Needless to say, some did not stay with him too long. He rode almost every day until his health would no longer allow it. Though he lived a full life, he understood that the things of this world could never truly satisfy, which is why he put his faith in Christ years ago. It is this faith that has led him to experience life everlasting alongside his Savior. It was Joe's wish to be cremated and his remains interred in the Palestine Cemetery. The Goodwine Funeral Home in Palestine is in charge of arrangements. In honor of his love of animals, friends and family are encouraged to make a donation to their local humane society.
