Jimmy Ray Fellows

Jimmy Ray Fellows, 51, of Pana, IL, died on August 31, 2019, at Heritage Health in Pana, IL. He was born on May 18, 1968, in Vincennes, IN, the son of Garred Ray & Dixie (Woodland) Fellows. He grew up in the Robinson area and was a 1986 graduate of Robinson High School. In the 90s, he moved to Pana and found work as a blanker operator for Graphic Packaging International in Shelbyville. Here, Jimmy Ray found a great sense of purpose and fulfillment alongside his beloved work family. Much of his time away from work revolved around spending time with his friends and his family, especially his nieces and nephews, who held a special place in his heart. Anyone who knew him could attest to his love of the Green Bay Packers and St. Louis Cardinals, and there were few games he didn't follow! Friends and family will remember Jimmy Ray as a kind, “gentle giant” of a man, who spread his intrinsic happiness to everyone he met. Simply put, he found joy in the little things in life. May we learn a lesson from the way he lived. He is survived by his mother, Dixie Fellows (Pana, IL); by his brother & sister-in-law, Garred & Kelli Fellows (Decatur, IL); by his brother-in-law, Jim Shipman; by his special nieces & nephews, Danyelle & Adam Hylton, Brittianie & Brandon Sanders, Heather Raines, Josh & Amanda Shipman, and Adria Shipman; as well as several great-nieces, great-nephews, and other extended family members. He was preceded in death by his father, Garred Ray Fellows; and by his sister, Karen Shipman. A time of visitation will be held from 1:00-3:00 p.m. on Monday, September 9th at the Goodwine Funeral Home in Palestine. Funeral services will be held at 3:00 p.m. on Monday at the funeral home with Pastor James Paine officiating. Burial will be in the Palestine Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to the "American Cancer Society", with envelopes available at the funeral home.
