Jerry W. Price

Jerry W. Price, 69 of Robinson, IL, formerly of Richland County, died at 6:00 a.m. Friday, December 18, 2009 at his home. He was born March 13, 1940 in Bridgeport , the son of Herbert William Price and Iva Lucretia Newman Price. Jerry owned and operated Jerry’s Janitorial Service in Robinson for 35 years retiring in 2003. He was an avid woodworker and family man, and a member of the Oak Ridge United Methodist Church . He also served in the U. S. Army National Guard.He married Brenda Rich Peel on October 19, 1996 and she survives. He is also survived by his son and daughter-in-law, Jerry and Kathy Price, Rinard , IL , and their children, J. R. Price, Julie Zimmerman and her husband, John, Jessica Crawford and her husband, Billy; his daughter and son-in-law, Donita and Bill Byford, Olney, IL, and their children, Michael Byford and Riley Byford; his son and daughter-in-law, James and Kathy Price, Bridgeport and his children, Megan Weiss and Jamie Price; his 2 great grandsons, Kehlin Crawford and Hunter McKnight; his mother-in-law, Audrey Rich, Lawrenceville; and his special sister-in-law, Kim Smith, Robinson.He was preceded in death by his parents; 4 sisters, Dortha Peterson, Martha Belle Peterson, Cora May Sergent, Hazel Lucretia Blevins; and 2 brothers, John Clayton Price and Lewis Burton Price.Graveside services will be held at 1:00 p.m. Monday, December 21, 2009 at the Bridgeport City Cemetery with Rev. Fred White officiating. The Goodwine Funeral Home, Robinson is in charge of arrangements. Memorials may be made to the St. Jude Children’s Hospital or to the American Cancer Society.
