Jeffrey "Sparky" Lawhead

Jeffrey “Sparky” Lawhead, 55, of Robinson, IL died on Tuesday, December 25, 2018 at his home. He was born May 14, 1963 in Olney, IL, the son of Harry Lawhead & Eva Mae (Benson) Lawhead, both of whom preceded him in death. He was also preceded in death by his brother, Tony Lawhead. Jeff grew up in Oblong, IL, a place he called “home” for much of his life. Following his graduation from Oblong High School, he would go on to work for L.S. Heath & Sons as well as several other Robinson-area businesses. Outside of work, chances were, he was riding his bike, and put countless miles behind him over the years. Jeff will long be remembered both for his insatiable appetite and for his friendly, happy demeanor. He truly will be missed by all who knew him. He is survived by his brother, Gary Lawhead (Robinson, IL); by his sisters & brothers-in-law, Pam & Dean Aten (Chickamauga, GA), Diane & Tim Smith (Robinson, IL), and Linda & Jack Boswell (Darwin, IL); by his sister-in-law, Brenda Lawhead (VA); by a special niece, Brittany Carter; by a special nephew, Josh Carter; by several other nieces and nephews; and by his close friend and buddy, John “Chef” Rokosch (Robinson, IL). Jeff requested that he be cremated with no public service. Memorial donations may be made to his memorial fund, with checks made payable to “Goodwine Funeral Homes”. The Goodwine Funeral Home in Robinson is in charge of arrangements.
