Janice Rae Siverly, 56 of Palestine, died at 2:33 a.m. Sunday, October 25, 2009 at Cotillion Ridge Nursing Center in Robinson. She was born September 9, 1953 in Robinson, IL, the daughter of Raymond Brannon and Gladys Whitman Brannon. She graduated from Palestine High School and received a degree in Education from Eastern Illinois University in Charleston. Janice was employed at Victor Products Division of Dana Co. for 30 years and had a very special relationship with the employees who supported her during her illness. She especially liked gardening and raising zinnias, reading, and during her illness watching the hummingbirds outside her window. She is survived by her daughter, Leanna Elizabeth Siverly, Palestine; her mother, Gladys Brannon, Palestine; two sisters and her brother-in-law, Patricia “Trish” and Myron Napier, Palestine, and Robin Burgund, Robinson; 2 nephews, Christopher Napier, Palestine and Gabe Burgund, Indianapolis, IN; her niece and husband, Kylie and Eric Jenkins, York; and a great nephew, Chase Jenkins.She was preceded in death by her father and a great nephew, Chance Jenkins.A Celebration of Life service will be held at 6:00 p.m. Tuesday, October 27th at the Goodwine Funeral Home in Palestine with Jane Drake presiding. Visitation will be from 3:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home. Private family graveside services will be Wednesday, October 28th at the Palestine Cemetery. Memorials may be made to the Palestine Public Library District, 116 S. Main St., Palestine, IL or left at the funeral home.
