Janice "Jan" Marie Evans, age 81 of West York, IL was called home by her Heavenly Father on Tuesday, June 7, 2022. Jan was born in Honey Creek Township, IL on May 4, 1941 to Joseph William Adams and Mary Louise Adams.
Jan lived in a number of places in her early adult life before settling down with the love of her life, Warren Evans in West York in 1981. She was a longtime member of Mount Olive Baptist Church where she taught Sunday School for 20+ years. She worked in the trust department of Crawford County Bank in Robinson. She always enjoyed reading, playing Scrabble with Warren, and watching Wheel of Fortune or Jeopardy. However, her true passion was her family. On Halloween, you would have seen her dressed up as Tweety Bird. On Easter, her bunny ears on her head meant it was time for her annual Easter Egg Hunt on the farm for all of the grandkids. The grandkids cherish the memories of countless puppet shows, board games, and other silly times with their grandmother. We will all miss the yearly wall calendars she gave to every one of us (that included everyone's birthdays hand-written by her).
Jan is survived by her husband of 40 years, Warren Evans; her sister, Margaret Minnick, her children, Kathy (Gary) Nidey, Laura (Steve) Probst, Ted (Tara) LaVigne, Bill (Callie) Evans, and Rebecca (Thad) Robinson; her grandchildren, Tiffany (Aaron) Ochs, Tara (Landon) Littlejohn, TeNeal (Luke) Wallace, Taylor Pinkston, Kayla (Nick) Pfeifer, Emma Probst, Carson Probst, Elizabeth Probst, Skyla (Hector) Velasco, Kyle Robinson, Kayla Robinson, Christopher LaVigne, Keith LaVigne, David LaVigne, Piper Evans, Peyton Evans, Sara (Jon) Watson, Kacy Jones, and Rachel (Travis) Gillette; plus 15 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Joseph William Adams and Mary Louise Adams; her sister, Jeanne Adams; and two sons, Anthony LaVigne and Jim LaVigne.
A time of visitation will be held from 12:00-2:00 p.m. on Friday, June 10th, at the Mount Olive Baptist Church, rural West York, IL.
