Janice Ann Bergman

November 6, 1957 — October 29, 2022

Janice Ann Bergman, 64, of Vincennes, IN, passed away on October 29, 2022, at her home. She was born in Paris, IL, on November 6, 1957, the daughter of Clifford H. Reed, Sr. & Geneva A. (Cooper) Reed, both of whom preceded her in death. She was also preceded in death by her sister, Kelly Jo Reed; her half-sister, Marthena Red; her brothers, Clifford Henry Reed, Jr., David Alan Reed, and Darrell Reed; and by her grandson, Corbin Keith Turgeon Helton.

She is survived by her sons, Roy G. Helton and Jesse O. Helton; by her grandchildren, Brandon Thompson, Maddox Helton, Jadon Helton, Nevaeh Helton, and Hiedi Helton; by three sisters, Debby Clearwater, Mary Ann Blei, and Patty Konecny; as well as several nieces and nephews.

Jan grew up all over the Clark County area and was a 1975 graduate of Marshall High School. Though she worked in various carnivals over the years, much of her career found her in automotive factories, from TRW in Marshall, IL, to Toyota in Princeton, IN. Away from work, Jan enjoyed hitting the open road and would travel when she was able. She was particularly drawn to the ocean, having fallen in love with its mighty grandeur while visiting her son in Florida.

Back at home, she enjoyed drawing, that is, when she wasn't sucked into one of her soaps! Programs like "Days of Our Lives" provided Jan with countless hours of entertainment, as did jigsaw puzzles. But the most important thing she pieced together was her family. She was everything to them, and they will forever cherish memories spent with this one-of-a-kind, fun-loving soul. A light has gone out in our lives, but the love she gave will live on in our hearts forever.

A funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m. (3:00 p.m. EST) on Monday, November 7th, at the Prust-Hosch Funeral Home in West Union, IL. During the service, there will be a time for family and friends to reflect on memories shared with this dear woman. For those unable to attend, a recording of the service will eventually be available on Goodwine Funeral Homes' Facebook page or by visiting www.goodwinefuneralhomes.com/live-stream/live-stream .

Cremation will follow the service. Memorials may be made to her memorial fund, with checks made payable to the "Prust-Hosch Funeral Home".
