Janet L. Myers

Janet L. Myers, 66, of rural Flat Rock, IL, died at 8:45 p.m. Wednesday, January 7, 2009 at her residence. She was born November 5, 1942 in Robinson, IL, the daughter of Oscar Meeks and Joan Piercefield Meeks. She retired in 2001 after 37 years of service for Victor Dana Corp. She was a member of the Robinson American Legion Post #69 Auxiliary.She married Rex Myers January 12, 1962 and he preceded her in death March 27, 2004. She was also preceded in death by her parents; her son, Stephen Myers; 2 brothers, Larry Meeks and Russell Meeks; and 3 sisters, Marilyn Smith, Cheryl Meeks and Evalyn Meeks.She is survived by 3 sons and daughters-in-law, Rex D. Jr. and Jannette Myers, Robinson, Rodney and Paula Myers, Flat Rock, Brian and Donna Myers, Robinson; 2 daughters and her son-in-law, Roxanna Hayden, Guston, KY and Amy and Pete Sisil, Oakland, OR; 11 grandchildren; 5 great grandchildren; 7 brothers and sisters-in-law, Gary Meeks, Robinson, Leonard and Rose Meeks, Robinson, Chuck and Jennie Meeks, Oblong, Richard and Sandy Meeks, Oblong, Ronnie Meeks, Robinson, Donnie Meeks, Big Springs, CO, Robert Meeks, Kansas City, MO; 5 sisters and brothers-in-law, Patricia and Victor Kingery, Oblong, Beatrice and Bob Abernathy, Robinson, Sandra LeGrand and her friend, Jeff Shelby, Robinson, Carol and Wayne Wolf, Robinson, and Kate and Ron McCord, Robinson; and several nieces and nephews.Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Saturday, January 10, 2009 at the Goodwine Funeral Home, Robinson with Sister Sheila Ducommon officiating. Burial will be in the Robinson New Cemetery. Visitation will be from 4:00 - 7:00 p.m. Friday, January 9th at the funeral home.
