Janet Elaine Maxwell-Culp

Janet Elaine Maxwell-Culp, 57, of Flat Rock, died at 7:40 p.m. on July 16, 2010 at her residence. She was born on June 25, 1953, the daughter of Wilfred and Lavene Parker Maxwell. She was a rural mail carrier for the U.S. Post Office for 25 years and was a Flat Rock 4-H Group Leader. She was also a member of the Flat Rock First Missionary Baptist Church, the Rural Letter Carrier Association, a past member of the Robinson Jaycees and the Flat Rock Homecoming Committee.She married Kevin Culp on December 14, 1991, and he survives. She is also survived by her parents; her two children, son Chris Wesley and his wife Joy, rural Robinson, and her daughter, Kaycee Culp, Flat Rock; her two grandchildren, Ashton and Austin Wesley, rural Robinson; her three brothers, Parker Maxwell and his wife Cathy, Flat Rock, Ron Maxwell and his wife Brenda, Flat Rock, Gary Maxwell, Flat Rock; her father-in-law and mother-in-law, Cleon and Hazel Culp, Willow Hill, her brother-in-law Craig Culp and his significant other, Patty Murrell, Robinson; her sister-in-law Lisa Connor and her husband David; and several aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins.Funeral services will be held at 11:30 a.m. on Wednesday, July 21, 2010 at the Flat Rock First Missionary Baptist Church, with a private family graveside service set for a later date. Visitation will be from 5:00-8:00 p.m. on Tuesday, July 20, 2010 at the Flat Rock First Missionary Baptist Church. Memorials may be made to the Flat Rock Homecoming Committee, the Flat Rock Fire Department, or the Flat Rock First Missionary Baptist Church. Memorial envelopes will be available at the church.
