Janeil Lavern Stewart

December 15, 1926 — November 10, 2020

Janeil LaVern Stewart, 93, of Robinson, IL, died November 10, 2020, at Ridgeview Care Center in Oblong, IL. Along with her twin brother, James, she was born December 15, 1926, in Dana, IN, the oldest of thirteen children born to Paul & Lola Wilkinson, both of whom preceded her in death. She married LeRoy Tilford Stewart on July 28, 1950, and they enjoyed nearly 60 years of marriage before his passing on March 28, 2010. She was also preceded in death by four brothers, James, Jack, Oliver and Russell Wilkinson, and by two sisters, Mary L. Crampton and Elsie Fox. She is survived by her daughters & sons-in-law, Jennalee & Jim Britton (Robinson, IL), Penny & Brian Watts (Indianapolis, IN), and Debra & John Piland (Southlake, TX); by 7 grandchildren & their spouses, Amie & Bart Enright, Becky & Brent Collier, Mike & Maya Britton, Tara & Eric Pangburn, Alisha & Dustin Survant, Jackie Piland, and David Piland; by eleven great-grandchildren; by four sisters, Nancy Smeder (CA), Grace Wickstrum (CA), Sue Sanders (IN), and Jane & Brian Evans (Robinson, IL); by two brothers, Herb Wilkinson (Robinson, IL) and Clark & Georgia Wilkinson (Tuscola, IL); by her sister-in-law, Joan Stewart (Robinson, IL); and by several nieces and nephews. Janeil was, by all accounts, a devoted wife, mother, and grandma, and will long be remembered for the love and energy she poured into each of these roles. Her family could never forget the joy which filled her 93 years, nor how filling her delicious homemade noodles were! In addition to her prowess in the kitchen, Janeil was also quite the talent with a needle and thread, having pieced together countless quilts that her family have to cherish for years to come. An avid golfer, she was a member of the Oak Glen Golf Course, and times spent here were a great source of joy in her life. She was also a member of the Otterbein United Methodist Church. We find both peace and assurance that the faith that she clung to throughout her life has been made sight. Janeil’s family would like to offer a heart-felt “thank you” to the wonderful staff at Brookstone Estates, Magnolia Center, and Ridgeview Care Center for taking excellent care of their mother. A private family service will be held, with Janeil being laid to rest at the Robinson New Cemetery. The Goodwine Funeral Home in Robinson is in charge of arrangements. Memorial contributions may be made to the “Robinson Elks #1188 Christmas Basket Fund”, and may be sent to: Goodwine Funeral Homes 303 E Main St Robinson, IL 62454
