James W. Brenton

James W. Brenton, 73, of Palestine, IL, died at 7:05 a.m. (E.S.T.) Tuesday, September 14, 2010 at New Willow Manor, Vincennes, IN. He was born February 8, 1937 in Palestine, IL, the son of Cecil Brenton and Pauline Bledsoe Brenton. He served in the U. S. Air Force from 1955-1958. He worked as a laborer for Morris Construction Co. for 32 years retiring in 1995. He was a member of the Labors Local #1280.James married Patricia €œPatty€ Wilson on August 2, 1974 and she survives. He is also survived by 4 children and their spouses, J.B. and Lisa Brenton, Lawrenceville, Kandy and Robert Crouch, New Albany, IN, Kerry and Ezra Crump, Lawrenceville, Garrett and Teresa Brenton, St. Francisville; 15 great grandchildren; 1 great grandson; his brother, Donald Brenton, MO; and several nieces and nephews.He was preceded in death by his parents; his daughter, Diana Lynn Neer; his son, Kevin J. Brenton; his brother, Jackie Brenton; his first wife, Bobbie Jo in 1966; and his second wife, Nellie in 1973.Graveside services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Friday, September 17, 2010 at the Palestine Cemetery. Visitation will be held Thursday, September 16th from 6:00 €œ 8:00 p.m. at the Goodwine Funeral Home, Palestine, IL. Memorials may be made to the Alzheimer€™s Association, the Lupus Foundation, or to the American Diabetes Association with envelopes available at the funeral home.
