Jada Jo Spinner, 55, of Palestine, IL, died at 11:39 a.m. on July 24, 2019, at the Crawford Memorial Hospital in Robinson, IL, the very hospital she was born in on November 18, 1963. She grew up in the Palestine area and was a 1981 graduate of Palestine High School. She loved her hometown with a passion and stayed very active in her community. She was a summer softball coach for the entirety of her daughter Kaycee’s career and was also heavily active in the PTO and the Palestine School Board, with whom she served as president. Needless to say, education was very important to Jada, evidenced further by her teaching adult literacy at the Robinson Public Library for several years. Jada did all these things while actively working hard to help provide for her family. She worked in the trust department of Crawford County State Bank for 12 years, as a parts manager for Ace’s in Palestine for 8 years, in the clinic billing office for Crawford Memorial Hospital for 12 years, before getting on at O’Reilly’s Auto Parts, where she worked as an assistant manager for a year and a half before retiring in 2012. Early in her retirement, she started PAWS, (Pioneer Animal Welfare Society), which she ran until 2014. She will be remembered as an unselfish spirit who gave to others without thought of self. She was a devoted wife, mother, and “momma” to her beloved grandchildren, and will be remembered for the energy she poured into these roles. Her memory lives on in their lives as well as the lives of those blessed enough to call her “friend”. Jada married Brad Spinner on August 8, 1987, and he survives, following nearly 32 years of marriage. She is also survived by her daughters, Kaycee & husband David Washburn (Palestine, IL) and Jessica Spinner of (Palestine, IL); and by her grandchildren, Mason (age 7), Kayden (age 4), and Raylan (age 6 months). A memorial service will be held at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday, July 30th at the Pleasant View Church, rural Palestine, IL. Memorial contributions may be made to the Palestine Public Library, with envelopes available at the church. The Goodwine Funeral Home in Palestine is in charge of arrangements.
