Leo E. €œJack€ Stoltz, 76, of Palestine, IL, died at 2:55 p.m. Sunday, September 5, 2010 at Crawford Memorial Hospital, Robinson, IL. He was born August 11, 1934 in Lawrence County, IL, the son of James Vernor Stoltz and Susie Cunningham Stoltz. He served in the U. S. Army. Jack was employed by McDonnell Douglas Aircraft, St. Louis, Mo., Lawrenceville Texaco Refinery and Marathon Oil Co. in Robinson. He was a hospice volunteer at the Good Samaritan Hospital, Vincennes, Palestine Food Bank, American Red Cross blood drives, Meals on Wheels, Palestine Senior Citizens Center. He was a member of the Palestine AmVets, Robinson V. F. W. Post #4549; Robinson American Legion Post #69. He received the Palestine Senior Citizen of the Year award. Jack was preceded in death by his parents; 3 brothers, Mervin, George, and James Stoltz, Jr; 3 sisters, Myrtle Ditch, Mona Dodson, and Marilee Stoltz; and his granddaughter, Erica Marie Stoltz. He is survived by 2 sons and daughters-in-law, Leo and Phoebe Stoltz, Robinson, Robert and Kathy Stoltz, Palestine; 4 daughters and sons-in-law, Linda Shanes, Olney, Pattie and Bill Murphy, Robinson, Barbara and Tim Reinoehl, Robinson, and Mary and Tyler McKinley, Bedford, IN; 14 grandchildren; 12 great grandchildren; 2 brothers, Larry Stoltz, Mooresville, IN and Bill Stoltz, Decatur; 4 sisters, Lola Skinner, Oolitic, IN, Lois Emberton, Forrest, IL, Juanita Kirby, Hernando, MS, and Donna Akers, Lawrenceville; his sister-in-law, Edith Stoltz, Gibson City, IL; and his companion of many years, Vivienne Ackman, Oblong.There will be cremation with private family services at a later date. Memorials may be made to the Palestine Food Bank with envelopes available at the funeral home. The Goodwine Funeral Home, Palestine is in charge of arrangements.
