Jack D. Strohm, 87, of Goodlettsville, TN passed away on January 3, 2022 at his home. He was born June 9, 1934 in the Wabash River bottom east of West Union, IL to Dean and Olive (Scott) Strohm, the first of 4 children. He was a 1953 graduate of Marshall High School, where he lettered in track and football. He joined the National Guard in 1954 and attained the rank of sergeant. He later volunteered for active service where he was stationed at Ft. Riley, KS with the 1st Infantry Division and left the service in 1958 as a staff sergeant. During this time, he still commuted back home on weekends and took his leave to work the farm. He married Phyllis Jo (Crawford) Jackson in 1968. Jack farmed in Clark and Crawford counties and participated in other businesses until he moved his family to Tennessee, where he worked for over 20 years at County & Western Tours (later Gray Line Nashville) as a tour guide until he retired due to health reasons. He loved meeting and talking to people who rode along on his tours and would often come home with a story that began with "guess who was on my bus today!", either someone from back home or a long lost friend. He is survived by his son, Carl C. Strohm & wife Carol; his grandsons, Michael Strohm & wife Sydney, and James Strohm; his step-daughter, Barbara Richards & husband Gary, and their children, Dr. John Richards & wife Allyson, Joseph Richards, Emily Mitchell & husband Kent; nine great-grandchildren; his sister, Linda Sloop; his brother, Scott Strohm, and their families.
