Jack D. Gilbert, 92, of Robinson, IL, died on February 4, 2020 at Crawford Memorial Hospital in Robinson, IL. Jack was born on August 30, 1927 in Charleston, IL the son of Loaren & Mona (Vaughn) Gilbert, both of whom preceded him in death. He was also preceded in death by his son, Steve Gilbert; by his siblings, John & LaVonna Gilbert and Nancy Bosler. He married Betty Elliott on May 25, 1952 and she survives. He is also survived by his children, John & Judy Gilbert (Olney, IL), Lisa & Randy Dunlap (Robinson, IL) and Jay & JoBeth Gilbert (Robinson, IL); by his grandchildren, Paul Gilbert, Gail Gilbert, Dustin & Melanie Stinson, Garrett & Michelle Stinson, Rlea Gilbert, Joslyn Dunlap, Lindsey Parker, Lucas Dunlap, Bethany Dunlap, Jacob Gilbert, Connor York, Christina Marshall and Kevin Marshall; by several great-grandchildren; by his siblings, Maude & Glen Dobbs, Milly & Mo Bunch and Jim & Ava Gilbert; as well as several nieces and nephews. He grew up in the Greenup area. He would work for Briggs Pottery and Stewart Security. Away from working he enjoyed being outdoors hunting, mushroom hunting, and fishing. Jack was an avid Cubs fan. He was a member of the Robinwood Assembly of God. His family is coordinating a gathering to celebrate his life from life from 10:00- 12:00 p.m. on Saturday, February 8th Robinwood Assembly of God in the basement (11157 N Trimble Rd, Robinson, IL 62454). Memorials may be made to V.F.W. Transportation Fund.
