J. Jeffrey Kartawich

Jeffrey 'Jeff' Kartawich, 47, of rural Robinson, IL, died at 11:00 a.m. Friday, May 16, 2008 at his residence after a long battle with cancer. He was born November 24, 1960 in Decatur, IL, the son of Joseph V. Kartawich and Oma M. Scott Kartawich. He attended Richland Community College and graduated from the University of Illinois-Sangamon State Campus. Jeff worked at the Amergen Nuclear Power Plant in Clinton, IL and was Chemistry and Environmental Supervisor at the Ameren Hutsonville Power Station for 5 years. He was a member and Elder at the Outer West Market Church of Christ, Palestine; a school board member of the New Hebron Christian School, a Weblo’s Den Leader, a leader of a men’s bible study; a member of the American Chemical Society and Certified Hazardous Material Management Assn.; and he made several mission trips to the Dominican Republic.Jeffmarried Lisa A. Coyle on October 12, 1991 and she survives. He is also survived by his daughter, Jessica and his son, Jonathan both at home; 2 brothers and a sister-in-law, Randy and Nancy Kartawich, Galesburg, Kevin Kartawich, Clinton; and 4 nephews and 2 nieces. He was preceded in death by his parents.Services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, May 20, 2008 at the Outer West Market Church of Christ, Palestine with Rev. John Brand officiating. Burial will be in the Robinson New Cemetery, Robinson. Visitation will be from 5:00 p.m.-8:00 p.m. Monday, May 19th at the Goodwine Funeral Home, Robinson and from 10:00 a.m until service time at 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, May 20th at the church. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Outer West Market Church of Christ, Mission Trip Fund.
