Irvin M. Haak, 83, Robinson, IL, died at 3:15 a.m. Sunday, October 04, 2009 at his home. He was born January 3, 1926 in Collinsville, IL, the son of Robert A. Haak and Emily Pigford Haak.He was a teacher, coach and principal of Hutsonville High School for 34 years. He was a member of Robinson Elks Lodge #1188, Crawford County Retired Teachers, the Highland Avenue Baptist Church and he served with the US Army as a paratrooper and scout during WWII, in both theaters.Irvin married Jennie White in 1949 and she preceded him in death in 1998. He then married Betty Clark on June 16, 2001 and she survives. Also surviving are 2 daughters and sons-in-law, Christy and Mike Bridges, Denver, CO, Marta and Gary Ellcessor, Shelbyville, KY; 7 grandchildren; 5 great grandchildren; and his sister, Roberta Groh,Falls Church, VA.He was preceded in death by his parents; his first wife, Jennie; his son, Nick; and his brother Henry Haak.Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m., Saturday, October 10th at the Hutsonville High School. Burial will follow in the Hutsonville Cemetery. Military graveside rites will be conducted by the combined units of Crawford County Veteran’s organizations. Visitation will be from 4-8 p.m. on Friday and from 12-1 p.m. on Saturday at the school. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorials be made to the Hutsonville High School Library. Envelopes will be available at the visitation or at the Goodwine Funeral Home in Robinson.
