Irene Mae Parker

Irene Mae Parker, 87, of Robinson, IL, died at 11:50 a.m. Tuesday, July 17, 2007 at Cotillion Ridge Nursing Center, Robinson. She was born March 12, 1920 in Flat Rock, IL, the daughter of Ellis Miller and Mary Danser Miller. She worked at Heath Candy Company for 16 years, retiring in 1981. She was a member of the New Hope Baptist Church, Robinson. She married Valmore Parker on June 4, 1935 and he preceded her in death in 1981. She was also preceded in death by her parents and her son, Gene Ray Parker.She is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Joleen and Herbert L. Spires, Marshall; 5 grandchildren; 10 great grandchildren; 3 great-great grandchildren; her daughter-in-law, Judy Parker, Porterville; her sister, Dorothy Chadwick, Hutchinson, KS; her brother and sister-in-law, Glen and Dorothy Miller, Haven, KS; and 4 nieces and nephews.Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Friday, July 20th at the Goodwine Funeral Home in Robinson. Pastor Billy McKee is in charge of services. Burial will be in the Jones Cemetery, rural Flat Rock. Visitation will be from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. Thursday, July 19th at the funeral home. Memorials may be made to Alzheimer's Association with envelopes at the funeral home.
