Henry “Hank” Chapman, 84, of Robinson, IL, died at 3:15 a.m., Saturday, April 6, 2019 in Robinson, IL. He was born on July 2, 1934 in Oblong, IL, the son of Walter E. Chapman & Cora A. (Cook) Chapman; both of whom preceded him in death. He was preceded in death by his son, Martin Keith Chapman (in infancy); by his sisters, Pearl Chapman (in infancy), Lucille Tennyson, Lorraine Bush, Lois “Rosie” Watts, Alta Gaddis, and Ruth Griffith; and his brother, Harold Chapman. Hank grew up in the Crawford County area before proudly serving his country in the U.S. Navy. He worked for General Telephone for over 40 years before he retired. Even outside of work, Hank wasn’t one to let dust settle. He was, by all means, a tinkerer, and spent countless hours woodworking in his shop. He was also an outdoorsman, evidenced by his passion for fishing, hunting, and camping. More than anything, he simply loved spending time with his family. He is survived by his wife, Sandra; his children, Scott & Valerie Chapman, Deanna & Mark Watson, and Barry & Cindy Chapman; his grandchildren, Katie Murphy, Sophie Watson, Emily Chapman, and Carmen Chapman; his great-granddaughter, Alivia Murphy; and his great-grandson, Jasper Chapman; as well as several nieces and nephews. A time of visitation will be held from 1:00-2:00 p.m. on Tuesday, April 9th at the Goodwine Funeral Home in Robinson. A graveside service will immediately follow and will be held at the Robinson New Cemetery, with Bro. Wayne Sisil officiating. As a “thank you” to the lodge for taking the time and effort in building Hank a ramp, memorials may be made to the “Robinson Masonic Lodge #250”. Memorials may also be made to the “V.F.W. Transportation Fund”. Envelopes will be available at the funeral home.
