Helen Mae (Littlejohn) Tracy

August 29, 1942 — September 2, 2024

Helen Mae (Littlejohn) Tracy, 82, of Robinson, Illinois, passed on September 2, 2024, in the comfort of her son & daughter-in-law's home with them by her side.

Helen was born on August 29, 1942, in Robinson, IL, the daughter of Everett Littlejohn & Gladys (Melton) Littlejohn-Coatney, both of whom preceded her in death. She was also preceded in death by her brothers, Charles Everett Littlejohn and David Littlejohn; sister, Virginia Goff; husband, Leon Tracy; son, Shelby Daugherty Jr. and grandson, Josh Spivey.

She is survived by her children, Sue Spivey, Don & Susan Daugherty, John & Sandra Stebbins; grandchildren, Anthony Daugherty, Sandra Daugherty, Tyler Daugherty, Christopher Spivey, Candice Spivey, Justin Spivey, Don, Jr. & Staci Daugherty, Michael & Megan Daugherty, and Caleb Stebbins; several great-grandchildren; brothers & sister-in-law, Prentice & Nancy Littlejohn and Joe Coatney; as well as several nieces and nephews.

Helen grew up with a tightly-knit family in Robinson. She held onto fond childhood memories, including the time she spent roller skating with her brother David during a brief period in Fort Myers, FL. The Littlejohn family returned to Robinson, where Helen would eventually lay down her own roots and create a lifetime of memories.

She devoted her life to caring for her family as a homemaker, a role she cherished and excelled in. Her nurturing heart extended beyond her own household, as evidenced by her 15 years of dedicated service in a nursing home and her time at Lexel. Helen's warmth and kindness touched the lives of many, leaving a lasting impression on everyone she met.

Her interests and hobbies were a reflection of her joyful spirit and love for the simple pleasures in life. Helen found solace in the pages of word search puzzles and the gentle sway of a swing in the fresh air. Music was a source of comfort and joy for her, particularly the tunes of Conway Twitty and Loretta Lynn, which could often be heard throughout her home. Helen also relished the opportunity to go for a ride, taking in the sights and marveling at the world around her.

The family would like to give special thanks to her wonderful caregivers, Michelle Staley and Denise Wells, and their group of ladies.

Helen's life was a tapestry woven with love, resilience, and the joy of everyday moments. Her unwavering strength and the love she shared with those around her will forever be etched in the hearts of her family and friends. She leaves behind a legacy of kindness, compassion, and the importance of cherishing the simple moments in life.
