Helen Lucile Stanfield, 88, of Palestine, IL, died at 8:00 p.m. (E.S.T.) Wednesday, December 5, 2007 at Good Samaritan Hospital, Vincennes, IN. She was born February 12, 1919 in Turman Twp, Indiana, the daughter of Claud Campbell and Verna Anderson Campbell. She was a homemaker. She was a member of the Palestine First Christian Church, Katherine Chapter Order of Eastern Star #637 for over 50 years, Bay View Club, Women’s Club, Palestine Preservation Charter Member, and the Sharing Group of the United Methodist Church. Her hobby was having coffee with her neighbors and friends at home and at the Village Inn, and spending time with her grandchildren and great grandchildren.She married Reuel Wayne Stanfield on March 3, 1946 and he preceded her in death on March 13, 2005. She was also preceded in death by her parents; her son, Ralph Stanfield; and 2 sisters, Ruby Heidenreich and Enid Case.She is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Cynthia and Rick Lawrence, Palestine; her son and daughter-in-law, David and Beverly Stanfield, Palestine; her daughter-in-law, Marsha Stanfield, Palestine; 8 grandchildren, Neil Bantican, Amy Bantican, Maria Bantican, all of Palestine, Mario Bantican, Charolette, NC, Ryan Stanfield, Lucas Stanfield, Lynn Stanfield, and Emma Stanfield, all of Palestine; 3 step grandchildren and their spouses, Shannon and Tim Payne, Palestine, Sgt. First Class Andy and Beth Kincade, Ft. Campbell, KY, Esper and Jeff Ealy, Robinson; and 9 great grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.Funeral services will be Saturday, December 8th at 10:00 a.m. at the Goodwine Funeral Home in Palestine. Rev. Jerry McDaniel will be in charge of services. Burial will be in the Palestine Cemetery. Visitation will be at the funeral home from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Friday and until services on Saturday. Memorials may be made to the Palestine Preservation Society.
