Heaven Casas

August 4, 1994 — October 10, 2024

Heaven Nicole Casas, beloved mother, daughter, sister, and friend, passed away unexpectedly at the young age of 30 on October 10, 2024, at Deaconess Midtown Hospital in Evansville, IN. Born on August 4, 1994, in Houston, TX. Heaven's life was a radiant journey that touched the hearts of all who knew her.

Heaven's early years were marked by the warmth of family and adventure. Growing up mostly in Illinois and Louisiana, she cultivated a diverse tapestry of experiences and friendships. Her resilience and compassion were shaped by her family's loving support, especially during the time when her brother courageously battled leukemia. A childhood highlight was the unforgettable "Make A Wish" trip to the Bahamas, where Heaven was able to swim with dolphins with her brother- a memory cherished deeply by her and her family.

Heaven's educational journey saw her attending several schools; she was proudly accepted once again at Louisiana State University (LSU). Her thirst for knowledge and her adaptability shone through her academic endeavors.

Throughout her career, Heaven was known for her dedication and versatility. From working as a technician at Wal-Mart Tire & Lube Express to her time at Jiffy Lube, she demonstrated her knack for mechanical tasks. Heaven's career also included a significant role as a Property Manager for a Real Estate company while working on her Realtor License. Heaven's colleagues will remember her as a reliable, intelligent, and diligent worker.

Heaven's spirit was as vibrant as her smile. A true sweetheart, she made friends effortlessly and treasured her close-knit circle. Her love for singing was infectious, often harmonizing with her mother to the tunes of old country and gospel. Heaven's adventurous soul led her to explore and the thrill of discovering Indian artifacts. Those who knew her admired her ability to be both girlie girl and a bit of a tomboy.

A testament to her curious nature, Heaven was always eager to try new things, learn, and quickly master any skill she pursued. She lived her life authentically, with a "what you saw was what you got" attitude. Her outgoing personality made her a natural at forming connections, and despite her toughness, she was always loving and caring. Heaven's strength was truly in her ability to balance grit with tenderness.

Heaven was a woman of great faith, and her Christian beliefs were a guiding light in her life, providing her with steadfast hope and purpose. Her generous spirit extended beyond her life here on earth, as she chose to donate her organs, a final act of care and benevolence.

She was an artist at heart, whether it was marveling at her painting and drawing skills or her love for antiques or enjoying the simplicity of nature while fishing or riding four-wheelers. Heaven embraced the outdoors with enthusiasm and loved to spend quality time with her children, instilling in them the same appreciation for life's wonders.

Heaven Casas is survived by a loving family: her parents, Margarito Casas Jr. and Tracy (Smith) Johnson; her children, Christopher Sandefer and Cielo Casas; her dear brother and "BroHam," Jeremy & Chasidy Casas; her half-siblings, Matthew Casas, Kristen Hutchins, Katlyn Garcia, and Carrie Elaine Deville; her grandmother, Juanita Morales and close family friend Doug Cole. She also leaves behind a host of aunts, uncles, and cousins, including her special cousin, Regan Deville. Heaven was preceded in death by her grandparents, Joseph L. Smith, Margarito Casas Sr., and Joann Cormier, and by her aunts and uncle, Carmen Smith, Carolina Casas, and Rosando Casas.

Heaven's legacy is one of love, handiness, and faith - qualities that will forever be remembered by those who were fortunate enough to know her. Her light will continue to shine in the hearts of her loved ones and through the lives she has touched. Heaven's journey on this earth was a testament to her name, and she will be deeply missed.
