HAZEL MAE €œSCOTT€ WRIGHTHazel Mae Wright, 95, formerly of West Union, IL, passed away at 8:37 a.m. Sunday, September 26, 2010 at Burnside Nursing Home in Marshall, IL. She was born in Walnut Prairie, (Clark County IL) on May 4, 1915, the daughter of Roy Scott and Myrtle (Coldren) Scott.She married Harnett Wright on July 28, 1934 and he survives. They celebrated their 76th wedding anniversary this year with their family. Hazel was active in many community organizations which included memberships in the West Union Christian Church, where she taught Sunday School for many years, the Eunice Club, Zion Home Extension, and the Gideon International Auxiliary.She was preceded in death by her parents; her two daughters, Barbara Wright Harmon and Rosalie Wright Sanders; her brother, Harry Scott, and 2 sisters, Olive Strohm and Lorene Rodgers.Hazel is survived by her beloved husband, Harnett, 2 grandchildren, Todd Jeffrey Harmon, and his wife Cathy, Humble, TX and Jill Haskins, and her husband, Francis €œNed€, Pittsburg, CA; 4 great grandchildren, Jamie, Jennifer, Mark and Miranda; her nieces, Linda (Hal) Sloop, Kathryn (Larry) Morecraft, Susan (Dick) Tinder, Anne Rodgers, Beth (Raymond) Sternberg; her nephews, Jack (Phyllis) Strohm, Jerry (Barbara) Strohm, Scott (Diane) Strohm, and Robert (Ann) Lederman; and a host of friends.Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, September 29th at the West Union Christian Church. Rev. Jim Freeman and Rev. Terry Henry are officiating. Burial is in the Harrison Cemetery, rural West Union. Visitation is from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. Tuesday at the West Union First Christian Church, and from 9:00 a.m. until service time at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday. Memorials may be made to the West Union Christian Church Parsonage Fund. Envelopes will be available at the Church.
