Harvey W. "Travis" Jones, 72, of Paris, IL, formerly of Tacoma, WA, died December 17, 2021, at Paris Community Hospital in Paris, IL. He was born August 7, 1949, in Cincinnati, OH, the son of Herman "Pete" Jones & Naomi "Pearl" (Turner) Frase, both of whom preceded him in death. He was also preceded in death by his brother, Bruce Wayne Jones. He is survived by his daughter, Lisa Hinckley; by a sister; by a special nephew, Brad Lee Jones, Jr. & wife Victoria and their children; by his "now-better-half", Mary Johnson; by his step-children, Rachel Perisho (aka, the "chosen one"), Randy Johnson, Sr., Jerry Johnson, and Gary & Marie Hinckley; as well as a plethora of grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, and nephews. Travis grew up in Longview, WA, and would graduate from Mark Morris High School. He eventually moved to Tacoma, WA, where he worked as a longshoreman for many years. He was notorious for talking to strangers, who would have immediately picked up on his humor, as the man was quick with a joke! Just a few years ago, his daughter entered into his life and gave him a renewed purpose to live. He became part of her side of the family, who recognized that the twilight years of his life were the brightest and best of his 72 years. After all, they were filled with love. Harvey is to be cremated, with services to be held at a later date. The Goodwine Funeral Home in Robinson is in charge of arrangements.
