Harrietta Hunnicutt, 88, of Robinson, IL, entered into eternal rest on Tuesday, August 10, 2021, at the Gibson Family Center for Hospice Care in Terre Haute, IN. She was born October 23, 1932, in Lawrenceville, IL, the daughter of Harry Edward Talbot & Gleneva (Miller) Talbot, both of whom preceded her in death. She married Richard L. Hunnicutt on July 9, 1953, and he preceded her in death on July 1, 1987. She was also preceded in death by her daughter & son-in-law, Karen Sue & Carl Cochran; by her brother, Charles Talbot; and by her sister, Edna (Talbot) Mazar. She is survived by her children & their spouses, Jeff & Fritzie Hunnicutt and Dagana & Buck Ashley; by her grandchildren & their spouses, C.C. Lee Cochran, Casie (Cochran) & Frank Fraley, Kayla (Ashley) & Joe Meek, Tara (Ashley) Holman, Amber (Ashley) & Jesse Caughran, and Danielle Hunnicutt; by 15 great-grandchildren; as well as many beloved nieces and nephews. Harrietta grew up in the Lawrenceville area and was a 1950 graduate of Lawrenceville High School. Right out of school, she went to work as a switchboard operator and would go on to have her hands in a little bit of everything through the years. She welded at AMF in Olney, was a familiar face at Gallo's Red & White, a secretary for Bill David, a cook & matron for both Lawrence County and Crawford County Jails, all before retiring from Save-a-Lot at the age of 75. Needless to say, the woman never shied away from work. In fact, she filled in wherever she saw a need, often without pay, which was a testament to her selfless, giving nature. It was evident in spending any length of time with her that Harrietta operated out of a deep, deep wellspring of love. We witnessed it in the humanity she showed the inmates under her husband's care, in the countless dinners she made to those in need, and in the way she opened her home to others, to name just a few. In short, throughout her 88 years, Harrietta Hunnicutt gave us a small glimpse of Jesus. Though she was a longtime member of Robinwood Assembly of God and was active in other local ministries, such as the Tree of Life and Joshua House, it was the way she lived her life that bore evidence to the faith that has now been made sight. We find both hope and assurance that on Tuesday, this sweet soul heard the words, "Well done, my good and faithful servant!" A private family graveside service will be held at the Robinson New Cemetery, with the Goodwine Funeral Home in Robinson in charge of arrangements. In honor of her love of animals and of children, memorials may be made to the "Crawford County Humane Society" or to "St. Jude Children's Research Hospital". Envelopes may be mailed to: Goodwine Funeral Homes 303 E Main St Robinson, IL 62454
