Harold O. Stephens

Harold O. Stephens, 90, of rural Annapolis, IL, died at 7:00 p.m. Wednesday, March 4, 2009 at Crawford Memorial Hospital, Robinson. He was born April 15, 1918 in Clark County, IL, the son of Joe W. Stephens and Lillie M. Nieburger. Harold was a retired farmer. He was a member of the Porterville Congregational Christian Church and the Crawford County Farm Bureau.He married Kathryn Vaughn on January 27, 1943 and she preceded him in death on March 31, 1980. He was also preceded in death by 2 sons, David Stephens in infancy and Glen Stephens; and his brother, Bruce Stephens.Harold is survived by his 4 sons and daughters-in-law, Ralph and Millie Stephens, Pierce, SD, Paul and Shirley Stephens, Palestine, Ray and Rita Stephens, Robinson, Kenneth Stephens, Annapolis; his daughter and son-in-law, Nancy and Rolland Hill, Annapolis; 9 grandchildren; 16 great grandchildren; his sister, Nora Medsker, Martinsville, IL; and his sister-in-law, Dorothy Stephens, Robinson.Funeral services will be held at the Goodwine Funeral Home in Robinson at 10 a.m. Monday, March 9th with Rev. Leland Culp officiating. Burial will be in the Partlow Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. Sunday, March 8th.Memorials may be made to the Lions Eye Foundation with envelopes at the funeral home.
