Gregory Alan Shull

April 18, 1959 — January 1, 2021

Mr. Gregory Alan Shull, 61, of West York, IL, died on January 1st, 2021 after an extended illness at IU Health University Hospital in Indianapolis, IN. Greg was born on April 18, 1959 in Oblong, IL, to Elmer Shull & Dorothy (Shull) Shelton, both of whom preceded him in death. He is survived by his brothers, Gene P. and Lola Shull (Cedar Rapids, IA), and Gary K. Shull (Greenwood, IN); a niece, Allyssa and Koale Culp (Mt. Carmel, IL); a nephew, Matthew Shull (Greenwood, IN); and his stepfather, John D. Shelton (West York, IL). He is also survived by many cousins and numerous close and valued friends. A 1977 graduate of Robinson High School, Greg spent many years in Robinson working at Gallo’s, Buehler’s and the Robinson Bowling Center. An excellent bowler, he bowled a 300 game in league, as well as many high games and series, and eventually became a member of the Professional Bowlers Association. Sports was always a big part of his life, and he was a lifelong fan of the Cubs, Bears and the Fighting Illini. He was working for Huck's in Vincennes at the time of his illness. Greg was a man of few words, but was well-liked by everyone and had a sly sense of humor. Although not a man of means, he would help or give support to his friends without a second thought. He was a unique individual and will be sorely missed by all. A graveside service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, May 15th, at the Medsker Cemetery in Melrose, IL. The Prust-Hosch Funeral Home in West Union is in charge of arrangements.
